FFRF Action Fund welcomes Rep. Judy Chu, D-Calif., as the newest member of the Congressional Freethought Caucus. Chu will become the 27th member to join the caucus.
Chu’s commitment to secular governance and evidence-based policy strengthens the caucus’s mission to uphold the constitutional principle of state/church separation and promote reason in public policy. Chu’s addition to the Congressional Freethought Caucus reflects her longstanding advocacy for civil liberties, scientific integrity and inclusive governance. As co-chair of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus and a member of the House Ways and Means Committee, she has consistently championed policies that respect diversity and uphold the rights of all individuals — regardless of religious belief or nonbelief.
“We are thrilled that Rep. Judy Chu has joined the Congressional Freethought Caucus,” comments Annie Laurie Gaylor, president of the FFRF Action Fund. “She’s an invaluable addition, and her leadership will bolster efforts to ensure that our government remains secular and inclusive for all.”
The FFRF Action Fund looks forward to supporting Rep. Chu and the Congressional Freethought Caucus in their continued efforts to promote reason, science and secular values in American governance.
