FFRF Action Fund endorses Wisconsin state Rep. Lisa Subeck in her reelection bid for Assembly District 79, which she has represented since 2014.
Subeck identifies as Jewish. She believes the government must serve people of every faith and those with no religion equally. While in office, she has based her decisions on the Constitution and evidence-backed reasoning, not on any religious doctrine. She asserts that maintaining a clear separation between state and church is essential to protecting both religious liberty and equal treatment under the law. When reelected, these values will continue to guide her work as a legislator.
Subeck has steadily supported policies that ensure the government remains neutral on religion, including defending public education by opposing voucher schemes that divert public dollars to private religious schools. She has also fought against the use of taxpayer dollars to fund unregulated pregnancy centers that give false information to vulnerable people seeking abortion care, often operated by religious organizations that are not licensed health care providers. Subeck is the ranking Democrat on the Health Committee and is a clear leader in the Wisconsin Assembly on reproductive freedom. She is the author of legislation to Restore Roe in Wisconsin and the Right to Contraception Act.
Since entering the Wisconsin Legislature, Subeck has also been a consistent champion for science-based health care policies and access to vaccinations. She is committed to managing affordability and ensuring all Wisconsinites have access to comprehensive medical care. Subeck has actively backed protective vaccination policies amid the overhaul of federal vaccine guidelines and has led legislation to address declining immunization rates and expand vaccine access in Wisconsin.
Subeck has been endorsed by Planned Parenthood Advocates of Wisconsin, Wisconsin Conservation Voters, WEAC, Wisconsin AFL-CIO and many others in past election cycles.
