Christian nationalists are emboldened — and are coming for secular education!
Alabama lawmakers are pushing to bring the Ten Commandments into public schools. The movement against secular public schools has intensified in recent months, and FFRF Action Fund needs you to stay strong against the approaching unconstitutional messages coming from religious lawmakers. Please contact the Alabama Senate Committee on Education Policy and urge them not to bring religious monuments into schools!
SB 166 requires schools to display the Ten Commandments in a common area in every school. This bill is unconstitutional and tries to claim the Ten Commandments as a “document of historical significance” rather than calling it what it actually is: a religious text. This clearly violates the United States Constitution by giving preferential treatment to one religion over any other. Alabama students don’t need the Ten Commandments to ensure their success in school; they need a secular school that is dedicated to upholding the Constitution against Christian nationalists seeking to brainwash the next generation of Americans into believing America is a “Christian nation.” Don’t let this lie be imposed on Alabama students! Take action now!
