Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds, a darling of Christian nationalists, is forcing legislators into a special session with the sole purpose of enacting legislation to restrict abortion rights. Take action today, and urge legislators not to make abortion decisions for you or others.
Reynolds scheduled the special session for July 11. In resorting to this rare tactic, Reynolds is undermining the state Supreme Court, and the will of the majority of Iowans. A ruling on the recent six week ban ended up with the Iowa Supreme Court being deadlocked, resulting in the ban being unenforceable and keeping abortion legal for up to 20 weeks. Reynolds still insists on enforcing her religiously motivated agenda despite the fact that over 60 percent of Iowa residents support legal abortion. It’s time for the numbers to speak for themselves: Iowans do not want further restrictions on abortion. Please fight back against this special session!
