Louisiana is about to become the first state in the country to require that the 10 Commandments be displayed in every public school classroom!

House Bill 71 is just the latest movement from Christian nationalists to attempt to convince public students that America is a “Christian nation.” In the seminal case of Stone v. Graham, the U.S. Supreme Court held that posting the Ten Commandments is unconstitutional, citing that the purpose of the text is “plainly religious.” But some Louisiana lawmakers completely disregarded their duty to uphold the secular Constitution, and now we must call on Gov. Landry to veto the bill.

Please contact Gov. Landry’s office today to urge him to veto this bill! We encourage usage of our customizable talking points through the “Take Action” button to contact them both via phone and email. For best results, please be succinct and polite.
