A crucial bill has passed the Kansas House and is now in the Kansas Senate, and we need your help encouraging the Senate Judiciary Committee to bring it up for a hearing! House Bill 2352 would require clergy members to become mandated reporters when they learn of abuse. Please act today, and help keep churches accountable!

HB 2352 has already passed the House and is awaiting a hearing in the Senate Judiciary Committee. This bill will require clergy members to report the abuse of a child when it becomes known to them. As more and more cases come to light, revealing instances of abuse, it is long past due to require these perpetrators to face justice. By mandating that clergy members report abuse, children will have another outlet to report these crimes. Tell your lawmakers to take a stand!

While this bill is far from perfect, it is a step in the right direction. The bill still permits a code of silence when clergy members learn about abuse during confession, but requiring that clergy members become mandated reporters will go a long way in supporting abuse victims. Please act today and urge the members of the Senate Judiciary Committee to hold a hearing today!

This bill is sitting in committee waiting to be heard, so take this opportunity to encourage lawmakers to schedule a hearing!
