An upcoming North Carolina bill would radically endanger public education funding!
The North Carolina House Committee on Education will be hearing House Bill 823 on Tuesday, May 2. Take action today to prevent religious schools from getting taxpayer dollars!
H 823 would remove all limits on the existing voucher program, allowing anyone to apply for voucher funding. Taxpayer funds will be used to pay for private school tuition regardless of the family’s income or whether the student already attends a private school. This is disguised as offering students a choice of their education despite studies showing that voucher students at private schools rarely if ever see any benefit over public education. Millions of taxpayer dollars would be funneled into religious schools under this bill, so it’s important to take a stand now!
