North Carolina lawmakers are threatening your right to health care in the name of religion! The House Committee on Judiciary will be hearing H 819 tomorrow, May 3, so please act quickly! Don’t let religion conquer medicine!

H 819 would give medical providers free rein to deny care based on religious beliefs alone. This means that any procedure or treatment can be rejected for any individual so long as a physician can claim that it violates their beliefs. North Carolina residents won’t be able to trust physicians out of fear that their needs will be second to their physician’s religion. Don’t let needless medical harm run rampant throughout North Carolina!

The bill also applies to health care “payers,” meaning that in addition to doctors, nurses and pharmacists, insurance companies could refuse to pay for procedures based on a religious objection.

The hearing for this bill is approaching fast, so there’s no time to wait! We have provided suggested language through the “Take Action” button, which can be customized to your liking. For best results, please be succinct and polite.
