An important bill is awaiting the signature from your governor.
Delaware legislators have passed House Bill 140, and the bill has one final step before it can be put into action. This bill understands how vital it is for terminally ill patients to have the most important choice in their life. Please take action today, and urge Gov. John Carney to solidify this right for the people who need it the most.
HB 140, a humanist-sponsored bill in the making since 2015, would allow terminally ill adults to request and self-administer medication to end their lives in a human manner. Opposition to these bills comes primarily from religious advocates believing that humans are improperly “playing God” instead of spending their final months in suffering. The toll this suffering can take on the family of the patient is immeasurable. Families and patients both deserve better. Don’t let religious extremists force pain upon people — Please act today.
Again, the bill has passed out of both chambers, and is just waiting to be signed. Please don’t wait to support this movement. We’ve included suggested language through the “Take Action” button, which can be customized to your liking. For best results, please be succinct and polite.
