An Oklahoma bill threatens the First Amendment!

Oklahoma Senate Bill 949 passed through a committee hearing and is now on its way to the house. Now is the time to take action to stop it — before Christianity invades the public sphere!

SB 949 would allow counties and municipalities to post the phrase “In God We Trust”  in all public buildings within their jurisdiction. Under the guise that this is our “national motto,” this motto does more to divide us as a nation than it does to unite us. This is a clear attempt to create the false perception that governments in Oklahoma are governed and sponsored by Christianity! It is the responsibility of every state to respect our secular Constitution, and Oklahoma legislators need to adhere to it by refusing to support a bill that would use public funds to promote religion. Don’t let legislators push their beliefs on you!

This bill is moving very quickly, so please don’t wait to take action! We have provided suggested talking points through the “Take Action” button, which can be customized to your liking. For best results, please be succinct and polite.
