The FFRF Action Fund needs your support to stop the U.S. Senate from allowing a dangerous Christian nationalist getting a seat of power in the incoming administration.
Russell Vought has been nominated by President-elect Donald Trump to be the director of the Office of Management and Budget. Vought will be Trump’s Project 2025 enforcer. If Vought is allowed this position, he will use his power to harness the power of the federal government with rules and regulations to implement Christian nationalism and Project 2025. Please take action today — and stop the Senate from confirming Vought!
Vought has been a champion for religious extremism through the organization he founded, the Center for Renewing America, which has supported the banning of books and the taking away of LGBTQ-plus and civil rights. The Center’s mission is “to renew a consensus of America as a nation under God” with work that includes the blocking of regulation for conservative tech companies and opposing the spread of critical race theory. Vought has embraced Christian nationalism, penning an essay in 2021 titled, “Is There Anything Actually Wrong With ‘Christian Nationalism?’” Vought argued for “an institutional separation between church and state, but not the separation of Christianity from its influence on government and society.” Vought has no interest in respecting the rights of non-Christian Americans, regardless of whether these are secularists or minority religious group members. This is the best way to fight back against Project 2025, so please ensure that one of its central authors stays as far away from the government as possible!
The nomination hearing for Vought begins on Wednesday, Jan. 15, so please contact your senators before then! We’ve included suggested talking points through the “Take Action” button, which can be customized to your liking. For best results, please be succinct and polite.
