Secular students across America need you to speak out against a new resolution!

U.S. Senators Jim Risch, R-Idaho, and Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., have introduced a resolution that would declare Oct. 1–7, as “Religious Education Week.” This resolution is being used to further push the agenda of Christian nationalism. Tell your senators to leave the dogma at the door and keep education secular today!

Senate Resolution 380 is built on the age-old lie that the only way to be an “ethical and moral” person is through religious education. The resolution additionally celebrates that over 500,000 students attend “released time” programs each year, where public school students substitute sectarian religious instruction for what should be school time. Not only are Christian nationalists willing to cut into valuable school time, but they want to make it mandatory that religious education be offered as part of every public school curriculum! If a student wishes to learn about the bible, it is their responsibility to educate themselves outside of school, not for public schools to bring it to them. Please take action, and urge your senators to reject this resolution!

This resolution has been introduced to the Senate, so the best course of action is to push back against it right now! We’ve included suggested language to write to your senators through the “Take Action” button, which can be customized to your liking. For best results, please be succinct and polite.
