An unconstitutional piece of legislation is moving fast in Arizona! HB 2523 has passed the House, and is now headed to the Senate. Please take a moment and urge your senator to vote against this unconstitutional bill.

HB 2523 would require students in Arizona to say the Pledge of Allegiance daily, in addition to observing a moment of silence. This revokes students’ freedom of choice, and would force them to say “one nation under God” on a daily basis. HB 2523 disregards any other beliefs or nonbeliefs and violates longstanding Supreme Court precedent allowing students to freely opt out of reciting the pledge (this bill would require written parental permission to opt out). Don’t let the Legislature indoctrinate Arizona students!

Urge your senator to vote against HB 2523 today! We have included suggested language through the “Take Action” button, which can be customized as you see fit. For best results, please be succinct and polite.
