Tennessee representatives will be hearing House Bill 771 very soon. Take action to prevent this bill from changing the Tennessee seal!
HB 771 would add the unnecessary phrase “In God We Trust” to the state seal of Tennessee. This is clearly done to present the image of Tennessee as a state governed and sponsored by the Christian religion. No U.S. state should promote any religion in their seal! Tennessee needs to represent people from every religion and nonreligion, and adding a Christian phrase to the seal immediately disrespects all non-Christians. Don’t let this happen without vocal opposition!
