FFRF AF endorses Melinda Rogers in bid for Virginia Beach School Board
Melinda Rogers is running for a Virginia Beach School Board, District 5 seat. She has been endorsed by We the People for Education, Vote Mama and the Virginia Beach Democratic Committee (VBDC). Rogers is committed to serving all students from all backgrounds, including all faiths or lack of faith. Rogers wants to ensure that policy is inclusive to all students, regardless of their belief systems and upholds the crucial separation of church and state. When elected, Rogers intends to address Virginia Beach’s book review policies and instruct all religious clubs to meet after school hours. Rogers is a part of the Freethought Community and identifies as an agnostic.
Rogers is a dedicated educator and has worked with Virginia Beach City Public Schools and the Virginia Department of Education’s VQB5 project, which helps to measure and improve the quality of all publicly funded birth-to-five classrooms.
