Two attorneys representing the FFRF Action Fund, the lobbying arm of the Freedom From Religion Foundation, will testify at Wisconsin Assembly committee hearings tomorrow against bills targeting the transgender community.
FFRF Equal Justice Works Fellow Kat Grant will testify against AB 465, which would prohibit gender-affirming care for minors. The Committee on Health, Aging, and Long Term Care will hear that bill at noon in the second floor North Hearing Room. Grant’s testimony is available here.
FFRF Senior Policy Counsel Ryan Jayne will testify against AB 377, a bill banning transgender athletes from competing in K-12 sports. The Assembly Education Committee will hear the bill at 9 a.m. in Room 417 North (Grand Army of the Republic Hall). Jayne testified against the same bill in 2021, and that testimony is available here. Jayne’s testimony this year will be available in person or via email.
The FFRF Action Fund is committed to opposing harmful religiously based policies, including bills that target and ostracize transgender children.
