Louisiana lawmakers are taking an unprecedented step to further criminalize abortion!

A new bill is threatening to restrict access to medication abortion drugs Mifepristone and Misoprostol. Anti-abortion lawmakers are stooping to new lows to take away reproductive rights. FFRF Action Fund is counting on you to stop Senate Bill 276!

SB 276 would reclassify medication abortion drugs as Schedule IV drugs, labeled as “controlled dangerous substances.” This would require individuals seeking a medication abortion to have a prescription from their doctor, or else face criminal charges if in possession of such medication. These restrictions come in the wake of the fall of Roe, and just before a decision is to be handed down by the United States Supreme Court that could threaten future access to Mifepristone. Christian nationalist lawmakers feel that they have been given free rein to pick away at the right to have an abortion. Please don’t let this bill become law!

The bill just passed the last legislative hurdle and is now headed to Gov. Landry’s desk for his signature. Please reach out to the governor and urge him to veto this bill!
